Felix Gloria-Lux 4-1/4-Inch Tomato Knife

Image
Do you really need a tomato knife? One try, and I’m certain you’ll be convinced! This is a specialty knife- it has a serrated/ scalloped blade edge, which is specifically designed to cut through juicy fruits like tomatoes and kiwi fruits. The serrations pierce the thin skin without disturbing the juicy flesh of the fruit. Also, this type of knife is excellent for slicing citrus fruits- the blade is able to "saw" through the skin. Is it an essential in your kitchen? Probably not. But, this knife is of very high quality, and using it is a pleasure. If you enjoy having high quality kitchen utensils at hand, I am sure you will like this knife. Click to Editorial Reviews

Wusthof Classic 7-Inch Sandwich Knife

Very good quality Bought to add to my wife’s set. She love these and respects the sharpness… They do hold a good edge for a lengthy time and are well balanced. Only thing I would change is the red sticker…should be engraved.. Click to Editorial Reviews

Browne Foodservice MWS91L Left-Hand Magna Wonder Slicer with Stainless Steel Blade

results are as advertised I’ve really enjoyed the results I’ve had using the knife. Finally I can have perfectly measured slices of breads & tomatoes. I have a mandolin slicer which is great for harder veggies such as potatos but not so great for breads and softer foods. This knife fills the gap perfectly. Click to Editorial Reviews

LamsonSharp 8-Inch Forged Serrated Bread Knife

Better than German brand and cuts even biscuits without crumbles Lamson Sharp knives are excellent, high quality knives MADE IN THE USA. I have several and am now accumulating additonal Lamson Sharp knives for a second home. I thought I’d save money and just get a set of basic knives from the big box store but this was a big mistake as they don’t cut properly, either meat, vegetables, or bread. I immediately bought my second bread knife since I make my own bread and really like a nice clean slice. This knife is also excellent at slicing bagels and biscuits without them tearing or crumbling. I find the weight and balance of the Lamson Sharp knives better than the Westhoff knives I started with before I knew of Lamson Sharp. Hightly recommended. Click to Editorial Reviews

Messermeister Meridian Elite 9-Inch Bread Knife

Well worth it I had a hard time bringing myself to fork out $80 for a bread knife, but I’m glad I did. This is a superbly crafted knife, and very useful. It does a great job biting into crusty loaves of bread, and it’s so amazingly sharp you can cut tomatoes without any sign of tearing. It fits my (largish) hand perfectly, and the slight upward curve of the blade really helps when you’ve cut almost through the loaf: it keeps you from needing to bang your knuckles on the cutting board trying to get that last little bit of crust on the bottom. I love it! Click to Editorial Reviews

Mac Knife Chef Series Bread/Roast Slicer Knife, 8-3/4-Inch

Image
superb I have known about MAC knives for some time and have owned a MAC cleaver and chef’s knife for several years so I knew MAC produced quality knives. Finally, after buying three bread knives, one of which was expensive and none of which really sliced through tougher breads easily, I decided to go with the MAC. It is a superb choice and slices bread and more easily. Beautiful knife I got this for my mother who never has a sharp knife in her house. This knife is really sharp and nice to work with. LamsonSharp 9-1/2-Inch Forged, Offset Serrated Bread Knife

A great bread knife. If you need a good bread knife, look no further. This knife has a great feel in the hand, it’s well balanced and just feels like a quality knife. The minute you pick it up you will know you have a knife that will probably last forever. It will slice through any bread with no effort at all. I use it everyday to slice the dough of my artisan bread and it glides through the wet dough effortlessly because of the nice serrated edge it has. I really like having an offset bread knife too. You can slice through the bread, to the board, without hitting your knuckles before you’re all the way through it. If you need a bread knife and want a good quality knife that will be sharpened for FREE for as long as you own it, buy this knife. It’s a nice one. pleasure to use This knife shaves through bread like a butter knife. The serrations bite right into the crust and gentle sawing slides through the loaf quickly. The forged blade is stiff but not heavy. The handle is fantastic, t...

Messermeister San Moritz Elite 9-Inch Bread Knife

Image
Best Bread knife for the price This is probably the best brea knife ever at this price. the only better knives I have tried are the Shun Classic and Shun Elite bread knives both have the same design as this one but are thinner and sharper but at %50 to %100 more money. when it comes to handles the messermeister have the best handles HANDS DOWN nothing feels as good in your hands as a messermeister Excellent Knife Bought this knife to continue my collection of the San Moritz knives, and I have to say it’s an amazing tool. The knife is mildly heavy, however it is well balanced and feels good in the hand. The heft also increases the the knives’ ability to easily and quickly slice through anything that’s thrown at it. Overall a great knife, well worth the price. Click to Editorial Reviews

Lamson 10" Bread knife I bought this knife for my son as a gift. He is in the restaurant industry so great knives are a must with him. This was the last knife he needed to complete his set so he is a believer in this brand. I have a couple myself and find the grip comfortable and the weight is perfect. Compared to my Department store Calphalons, these are hold an edge and sharpen much better. Click to Editorial Reviews

Calphalon LX Series Cutlery 8″ Bread Knife

Image
Well Made and Very Sharp. I love this knife, it is dangerously sharp, made from German steele. The weight and balance of the knife are professional feeling. Elegant and effective I purchased this knife after falling in love with the LX series, having stumbled across the 8″ Chef’s Knife in a Homegoods. The Bread Knife is of the same caliber as the rest of the knives I’ve purchased from the set; sharp, hefty without being ungainly, and elegant without sacrificing comfort. That said, I bought this much more cheaply, from a different Seller; I am not sure if I would pay the current ~$50 for the knife, given how relatively infrequently I use it, and the nature of serration somewhat mitigating the need for a very sharp knife. Still, it is a beautiful bit of steel, and certainly one that will last for some time. Click to Editorial Reviews
