Calphalon LX Series Cutlery 8″ Bread Knife



Well Made and Very Sharp.

I love this knife, it is dangerously sharp, made from German steele. The weight and balance of the knife are professional feeling.

Elegant and effective

I purchased this knife after falling in love with the LX series, having stumbled across the 8″ Chef’s Knife in a Homegoods. The Bread Knife is of the same caliber as the rest of the knives I’ve purchased from the set; sharp, hefty without being ungainly, and elegant without sacrificing comfort. That said, I bought this much more cheaply, from a different Seller; I am not sure if I would pay the current ~$50 for the knife, given how relatively infrequently I use it, and the nature of serration somewhat mitigating the need for a very sharp knife. Still, it is a beautiful bit of steel, and certainly one that will last for some time.

Incredible Knife, Just Too Short for my Tomato I am a big fan of Global knives. They are wonderfully balanced, expertly sharp, and heaven to hold. This knife is no exception. Shun Ken Onion 7-Inch Cleaver

Chop I’ve wanted a nice cleaver since I saw the Mortal Kombat character ‘Meat’ hacking away at his foes with a sweet pair of them, or was it the Swedish Chef recklessly flailing away in the kitchen on the Muppet Show in the mid 70′s? Anywho. Due to a youthful affinity for the tool paired with the occasional lite butchery I’ve been doing from watching too much of the ‘Food Network’, i felt it was time to invest in a piece that was sturdy, functional & decorative. The Shun Ken Onion Cleaver does not disappoint on any of these criteria. It’s like having one of those decorative battle-axes or Harry Potter swords on the wall that is actually functionally useful for cooking.
