Messermeister Meridian Elite 8-Inch Kullenschliff Flexible Fillet Knife



Great for cleaning fish!

I purchased this knife about a year ago to clean fish. I can’t stand a dull knife, and I have yet to find a knife at a Wal-Mart or similar store that will stay sharp for long or sharpen easily.


This knife is exceptionally sharp, keeps an edge well, and is relatively easy to sharpen. I didn’t realize most of my fishing holes were going to go dry when I ordered this knife, but I’m glad I did. I tried to catch and clean most of the fish out of my ponds before they went to waste, and I spent 3-4 days a week last summer cleaning fish. Bluegill, crappie, and bass are all a breeze. Even large bass (7+ pounds) I would not normally have kept were easy enough. I normally sharpened a little after each use, but the knife easily handled each days catch without going dull.


I was hesitant at first to spend this much on a knife. Now, I wish I had done this long ago.

Yes! This is a single stone (rather than a complicated series of stones) that gets the job done better than a much more costly electric sharpener. Incredible Knife, Just Too Short for my Tomato I am a big fan of Global knives. They are wonderfully balanced, expertly sharp, and heaven to hold. This knife is no exception. I have quite a collection, myself. However, to call this knife a "Tomato Knife," at only 3inches long, is nuts in my book; that is, of course, unless you’re talking about cherry tomatoes! The knife does glide through the skin effortlessly, as another has said, and the meat of the tomato is certainly not a challenge for the knife, either.
