MAC brand 3 piece Knife Set #GSP31



Excellent steel

These is a terrific set of (molybdenum steel) knives and we love using them in the kitchen. A few things I wish I would have known before ordering are:

- Out of the box, these knives are scary sharp….almost to a fault. They will break skin at even slight pressure. This isn’t really a fault of the knife but really; I have Globals and these are definitely sharper out of the box.

- They are quite light. I generally prefer knives with a bit of heft to them.

- The small paring knife in this set does not have a full tang.

- Another thing of note is that the edge runs all the way to the back of the knife where the handle is. Most of my other knives have an edge that stops at the base edge. I have found this to be so useful during use!


All in all, I can only detract one star for the lack of heft. Otherwise, a very high quality set.

Love these knives, very precise. Cutting veggies and meat are very easy with these. I got rid of my old set after trying these.

Great set of knives at a great price.

The absolute best deal on knives anywhere! Exceptional blade angle for cutting and slicing. A high quality set of knives.

took a chance on these knives I think $100 knives are hype so I took a chance on these more moderately priced knives and I believe it was worth it. They are the most expensive knives I have and now I have two of the utility knives (did give one away though), one of the boning knife, and one of the 15cm kitchen knife. You have to be careful with these knives because once they start cutting they will slide through, so you have to have good control and positioning or will cut yourself. The bad is that the one 17cm utility knife I’m using came with a not so perfect blade though it’s still very sharp. It has like three tiny knicks that are hard to see. The blades are thinner then normal blades but I was hoping the material be harder then this. Another problem is that even after washing/drying the utility knife after every use there is a tiny spot on the blade with a small discoloration in the metal. I wonder if it was used for something it shouldn’t have been used for or maybe the crafting

Masanobu VG-10 Sujihiki 10.5″ (27cm) – Right

Masanobu sujijiki 10.5 Great knife. You get what you pay for with this one. Retains edge for long time. Easy to sharpen. Use only waterstone for best results. My buddy has the same knife and he used an oil stone and gave his steel a nice shine. Excuse my sarcasm. Anyway, if you have the money to spend, I would spend it on this one.
