KitchenAid Cook’s Series Mezzaluna and Sheath, Black



Yes it IS dangerous.

I agree: It’s dangerous. I really question the people who marked Melissa Smith’s review as not helpful. It might be the most helpful one here. I wish I had read it before I bought the item. I also got hurt using it. I use razor sharp knives all the time, but the very first time I used this one, I sliced open my finger all the way to the bone while trying to put it back in the case.


Think about it. You hold the sheath in your palm with one hand and push the mezzaluna into it with the other hand. If it slips, you will slice your hand. I was lucky in that it was only my fingertip, but I did lose some of the feeling in that fingertip, which is not helpful when I play the piano.


Please note that the problem is not that the blade is sharp; it’s the way you have to put it into the sheath. It fits tight and does not go in easily. I am a fanatic about sharp knives; I use them all the time. But with this mezzaluna, I sliced open my finger the very first time I…

Great product!

KitchenAid is a trusted name in kitchen equipment. This is no exception. Great tool- great for chopping herb. Be sure to use this on a flat, steady cutting board surface (Sounds logical, I know, but I had to learn the hard way)!

Great Product

These are great for folks with week hands or pain in their hands. The shape applies all the force to the cutting edge making chopping/cutting a breeze. Kitchen Aid is great too.

Shun Ken Onion 7-Inch Cleaver

Chop I’ve wanted a nice cleaver since I saw the Mortal Kombat character ‘Meat’ hacking away at his foes with a sweet pair of them, or was it the Swedish Chef recklessly flailing away in the kitchen on the Muppet Show in the mid 70′s? Anywho.
